History
Appliance Installation &
Service Corp. better known locally as A.I.S. has five locations
servicing the Western two thirds of New York State. Founded in 1947,
A.I.S. has a long history in the appliance repair business. Former owner
and former president of CFESA, Ronald Canestro built A.I.S. from a one
location appliance repair business into a five location parts and
service organization.
A.I.S. differentiates
itself from the competition by having all offices staffed with
management, on-site parts sales and a true local presence in each branch
location. In addition, A.I.S. services include all cooking and food
preparation equipment, refrigeration service and installation and
commercial kitchen ventilation installation and repair. Wayne Stoutner
and Paul Glowacki began their career with A.I.S in 1992 and received
extensive training and experience and both worked in all phases of the
business.
In the spring of 2002,
Wayne and Paul purchased A.I.S and have continued the tradition of full
service for the commercial cooking industry. Wayne and Paul are both
graduates of the State University of New York at Buffalo receiving a
B.S. in Business Management, Finance and Accounting. Prior to the
purchase, both decided to return to school where they each earned their
MBA in the spring of 2001. “Once the purchase of A.I.S. was finalized
we, like many business owners before us realized that we had a lot to
learn.
The realization became
clear when we understood that we still had new things to learn every
day. Although this industry truly is made up of a small community of
interesting and complex people, we continually struggle to keep up with
the rapid changes of people, business ties and relationships. As owners,
we continually have to develop and maintain relationships with our
employees, customers, local equipment dealers, manufacturer’s reps and
the manufacturers that we are contracted to perform service and parts
distribution for.
Like most CFESA
companies, we are contracted with many competing manufacturers, dealers
and representatives. We (like most CFESA Certified Companies) work hard
to give them all the very best service and the best value for their
dollar. From a personnel standpoint, we were very lucky to retain some
of the finest operations people available.
Most of our management,
operations and technical staff have been with us on an average of 10
years. In fact, about 20% of our people have been an A.I.S. team member
longer than Paul and I. Our focus and main goal as we go forward is to
streamline our business in order to continue to provide the best value
available in our market to our customer. In order to achieve this goal
we focus on training, technological advances, fast and efficient service
and watching our overhead costs. We feel that if we work hard enough to
achieve that single goal, we will be successful now and well into the
future regardless of the rapid changes going on right now throughout the
industry.”
